Hi everyone!!
I’m glad that you’re able to join me on this journey. This first p
The more I’ve been getting into partnership making/fundraising, I’ve been asked the question more and more, “Why do you want to do this trip? No one gives away 9 months for nothing.” Well, I’m going to attempt to convey this through words.
My why:
Christ has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old, but He truly changed my heart when I was 16 years old. He has brought me to many different places, such as Palmer’s auto (a mechanic shop I worked at right out of high school), Teens For Christ (a ministry I served at), and now Camp Lebanon (a camping ministry that I currently intern at). It’s been one thing unto the next, but one thing I never considered was missions. I thought the Lord for sure was having me do ministry here in the States, and that was it.
Then, the Great Commission really convicted me. I was caught like a fish, stunned when God showed me verse 19: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”(ESV). Of course, I’ve heard this passage a hundred times at least, but when God showed it to me this time, it felt different. The part that struck me was “Go therefore and make Disciples of all nations…” All nations were included, and the sudden realization hit me, “I’m not sure what other countries are like.” I know the U.S., but having no understandings of the world as a whole.
After I realized that, as well as some shared experiences bestowed from a friend, I knew this is where I had to go. This is a journey where I hope to change and to be changed. I want to radically follow Christ, so that I can best serve where he places me.
This is where He has me next.
